Presseject are sarah davies and sarah bock who have been playing together since 2006. They use a combination of dodgy and semi-dodgy analog and electronic instruments to create a sound which they enthusiastically descibe as 'electronic queer upbeat noise pop'.
Presseject originally met through a sydney based chick-run diy music collective called Scooter, which puts on regular gigs for local, interstate and international girl musos. Since then, they have played at many local, interstate and international venues including robodoc (amsterdam), ladyfest (berlin / leipzig), kooky (sydney), slit magazine launches and pop my cherry (singapore).
They have released 2 cds ("*.pop" in 2007 and "perfect snatch" in 2008) and a film clip ("atm lady", directed by ali russell) and are currently writing material for their third album.
Presseject is inspired by a girl-driven diy tech electro pop universe. This inspiration be seen in their occasional use of ironing boards as keyboard stands, their hand-sewn cd covers and the venues they like to play.
The band's original line-up included patzy black (bass guitar) who co-wrote the songs on the *.pop cd. Other original members were liz smith (drums) and jo daniell (vocals).
